CONTEXT

About the product

Vetster is an online marketplace providing virtual pet care to pet owners anytime, anywhere. In 2021, Vetster expanded into the B2B space with the launch of Vetster for Work (VFW)—an offering specifically designed for employee incentive programs.

As the sole product designer for this project, I was responsible for crafting a seamless experience within the existing platform that balanced a distinctive, professional aesthetic with the brand’s playful personality.

EARLY CONCEPTS

Designing for different user groups and platforms

Since VFW would be used by two different user groups (the employer and the employee), the design needed to accommodate both experiences. The main distinctions between the employer and employee experiences are the dashboard and the ability to book appointments.

Additionally, the design needed to be flexible to work in both web-based and mobile environments. While the project began web-based to complement Vetster’s core product offering, it later transitioned to mobile in support of its App Store launch in July 2021.

FINAL CONCEPTS

App design and marketing campaigns

The final designs were rolled out as a separate experience within the main Vetster app. The dark theme was used to visually distinguish VFW from the original (white) Vetster experience, as well as to portray an elevated, professional tone of voice.

I also prepared a few mock email campaigns to accompany the marketing pitch to a prospective partner (Sobeys).

IMPACT

Project debut on local news network

I created and presented a clickable prototype that facilitated a smooth hand-off to the engineering team, as well as helped the marketing team successfully pitch the product to Sobeys. Following its debut on BNN Bloomberg, Vetster for Work garnered positive feedback and resulted in a significant increase in app downloads.
